Learning English as a second language.

Since graduating from a university in Cambridge, England, I have undertaken teaching English as a second language. I am accredited to an advanced level and have successfully taught students of all ages, abilities, and nationalities. 

I offer support from beginner to advanced as well as academic and business levels. 

Beginner Level.

 

  • People want to learn English as a second language for a variety of reasons.

 

 

  • Confidence is key to learning a new language. I can help develop this confidence within a safe, encouraging environment.

 

  • I have developed an array of teaching methods, classroom activities, and resources that help my students achieve their learning goals.

 

  • Here we will develop the four key aspects of the English language: Speaking, Writing, Listening, and Reading

 

 

 

 

 

Intermediate Level. 

 

  • You may have had English language lessons previously, maybe at school or even through self-education.

 

  • We can use this as a chance to develop your current knowledge and identify any areas that need improvement..

 

  • It also offers the opportunity to ensure you fully understand the basics, whilst putting into practise your knowledge and taking it to the next level.

 

  • As with all of my English language courses, I have developed engaging activities where the focus is on you, the student.

 

 

 

 

Advanced Level.

 

  • If you are speaking English at an advanced level, you may wish to continue your studies for a plethora of reasons.

 

  • Whether that reason be university entrance, studying abroad, professional work placements, and so on... I can assist you!

 

  • Often, my students wish to retain previously learned skills within the four key aspects of the English language.

 

  • Whatever the reason, aim, or objective, I can help you. We will discuss what you would like to achieve, and exactly how you would like to do so.

 

  • There are two types of classes: formal and academically challenging, or informal and focused on social skills.. Ultimately, this is your decision.

 

 

Business/
Academic Level.

  • Aimed at very experienced English users, I have developed this course to contain more colloquial language use.

 

  • Whilst it is imperative that the key skills are in place, we will use these skills as a foundation to develop more natural conversation and written work.

 

  • For example, this might include idioms, advanced phrasal verbs, or the study of business journals and academic writing.

 

  • I'll provide everything we need for the classes, but let me know what topics you're interested in..
